Pirots 2 is ELK Studios’ bird-collection hit and one of the most feature-rich slots on our list: four CollectR birds working a grid that grows from 6x6 to 8x8, amber symbols that upgrade up to seven times, chests of feature symbols, and a five-tier buy menu - all under the bluntest catch we have written up, a 94.0% RTP that ELK publishes itself, with no higher build documented anywhere to switch to. The demo is the free way to learn a genuinely deep game; this guide covers the mechanics from ELK’s own page, the buy menu priced in expected-loss terms, and what the missing two points cost.

How the game works

Pirots 2 is a collection game, not a payline or Megaways slot. Databases report four bird “CollectR” symbols, and ELK’s own page describes the loop plainly: the birds move around the grid and “collect amber symbols of their own color to generate wins as well as feature symbols.” The board starts at 6x6 and grid-expansion features grow it to 8x8, which matters because a bigger board holds more ambers per collection run.

The ambers themselves are the paytable. Per ELK’s page they “can upgrade up to 7 times, increasing the payout at each step,” and reviews report the values running from around 0.05x bet at entry level to a reported 50x for the top color fully upgraded - so a late-game board pays a different order of magnitude than a fresh one. Databases report bets from 0.20 to 100 per spin and a 25.4% hit frequency, roughly one spin in four paying something, with the rest of the maths carried by the features.

The feature meter and the eight feature symbols

Every collected amber counts toward a feature meter, and ELK’s page states that a full meter “awards three chests filled with random feature symbols.” The studio names exactly eight: instant coin wins, symbol upgrades, wilds, game grid expansions, redrops, symbol transformations, popcorn and bonus symbols - whatever a chest hands you is one of those.

The one ELK explains in full is popcorn: a collected popcorn symbol “fills empty symbol positions with popcorn allowing the birds to cross empty spaces one time each to reach additional symbols” - a mobility tool for a board the birds have already picked half clean. For the rest, ELK’s page does not spell each one out, and we will not invent details it does not print; the demo is the honest way to watch what an upgrade or a transformation does to a live board.

The Bonus and the Super Bonus

Three bonus symbols trigger the Bonus game, per ELK’s own page, and the page makes the persistence rules explicit: “grid size, the progress on the feature meter, the payout level of the amber symbols, and the collection of additional bonus symbols are all persistent during the bonus game.” That is the sentence that explains the whole design - upgrades you built before the trigger keep working through it, which is where the 10,000x bet ceiling from ELK’s sheet has to come from.

A Super Bonus also exists: ELK describes it through the X-iter menu as the 500x mode “where both multipliers and instant pay symbols are progressive and sticky.” One database reports the Super Bonus as reachable only through that buy; we could not confirm an organic trigger, so treat the 500x price as the documented way in.

The X-iter menu, priced out

ELK’s page confirms five X-iter modes from 3x bet to a 500x bet Super Bonus, with the cheapest giving “more than three times the chance to trigger the Bonus.” Databases name the ladder: Bonus Hunt (3x stake), Popcorn Fiesta (10x), Maximum Grid Size (25x), Bonus (100x) and Super Bonus (500x).

Here is what those prices mean in expected-loss terms. ELK publishes one RTP for the whole game, 94.0%, and no separate figure for any mode - so the only honest pricing applies that single number to every tier. This is our arithmetic on ELK’s figure, nothing more:

• Bonus Hunt, 3x: about 2.82x back on average, an expected cost of 0.18x bet per press.
• Popcorn Fiesta, 10x: about 9.4x back, 0.60x expected cost.
• Maximum Grid Size, 25x: about 23.5x back, 1.50x expected cost.
• Bonus, 100x: about 94x back, 6.0x expected cost - exactly the expected cost of 100 base-game spins, compressed into one round of variance.
• Super Bonus, 500x: about 470x back, an expected 30x bet gone per press.

Notice the pattern: at a flat published RTP, a buy priced at Nx has the same expected cost as N base-game spins. No tier is priced in your favor and none is a hidden trap - no option is profitable by construction; the menu only sets how fast the money moves and how lumpy the results are. Some studios’ buy modes have databases reporting slightly different returns per mode; ELK documents no such spread, so there is not even an edge to argue about.

Pirots 2, Dam Beavers, Cygnus 4 or Wild Toro 2?

The uncomfortable summary: within ELK’s lineup you choose features, not price. Three of the four run the same 94%, and only Wild Toro 2 hands a point back.

RTP honesty check

This is the section that decides the game. ELK publishes 94.0% on the Pirots 2 data sheet linked from its own game page, and unlike Play’n GO or Hacksaw, which document several builds per game, ELK’s sheet lists that single figure - we found no reduced or higher-RTP version of this game documented by ELK. That cuts both ways. The good half: no operator is quietly running a cut build underneath you. The bad half: there is no 96% version to hunt, because no better version exists to hunt - the check at your casino is a confirmation, not a shopping trip, and any number other than 94.0% in the info panel would itself be news worth reporting.

Now the cost, in numbers. Per 100 spins at a fixed 1 unit stake, a 94% game keeps 6.0 units in expectation; a typical 96.3% slot keeps 3.7. One footnote for the record: ELK’s own page does not date the release, and databases disagree, printing dates from June to October 2023 - so we list the year and leave the day as reported.

The bottom line

Pirots 2 is a brilliantly designed, mechanically deep slot that we would recommend far more warmly if it were not built on a published 94% return with no higher build to switch to. The persistence rules make the Bonus genuinely worth reaching, and every bit of it can be learned in the demo, where the RTP costs you nothing.
